Information for parents who have received notification that their son has been offered a place at Wirral Grammar School for Boys
If you have been offered a place for your son, you first need to follow the guidelines in the information that you have been sent and confirm that you wish your son to attend our school; there is a deadline by which you are required to do this.
It will take a few weeks before we are notified of the addresses of those who are starting in September. Once we receive this information we will send you a 'Welcome Guide'. The guide contains some preliminary information about our school, some of which you may be aware of already; you can read the information in this guide by clicking here.
Between now and July, teachers from Wirral Grammar School will be making arrangements to visit primary schools and talk to Year 6 teachers. Finding out about your son is an important first step in helping him to settle into his new school. In July, before we finish for the summer, your son will be able to visit the school for our Induction Day when he will be able to meet his Form Tutor and familiarise himself with his new school. On the evening prior to the Induction Day we have a 'Welcome Meeting' for all parents and their sons; at this meeting you will be given the Parent Handbook for 2008/9. You can read our current Parent Handbook for 2007/8 by clicking here. You will be informed of the dates for our Welcome Meeting and the Induction Day shortly.
If we can assist you in anyway between now and the summer, please do not hesitate to contact us. Moving from Primary School to Secondary School is a big step and one that we hope will be as smooth as possible.
