Chemistry - Employment Opportunities:
Chemistry graduates are attractive to many employers because of their personal transferable skills, rather than specific skills gained during the education process.
These skills include the ability to analyse information in a logical way, a firm grasp of numeracy and problem-solving skills.
The Chemical Industry is the fifth largest manufacturing industry in the country. In addition, Chemistry is a required subject for entry into many other careers such as agricultural science, biochemistry, medecine, dentistry, veterinary science, food science, chemical engineering, environmental health, forensic science, metallurgy, pharmacy and pharmacology, water science and many many more.
