Wirral Grammar School for Boys is a school located at the heart of a vibrant and supportive community, and as such we are working hard to develop effective working relationships with partner primary and secondary schools, local employers and members of the local and wider community such as adult learners.
Focusing on Business & Enterprise, we have helped several schools to set up and maintain healthy tuck shops, developed a community website for local businesses and provided ICT related short courses to groups of adult learners.
A new project has seen the development of a school community website which is currently being created and maintained by year 9 students from WGSB and a group of year 6 pupils from a local primary school.
Finally, at the end of this academic year, we have invited all year 6 pupils from our 4 partner primary schools to take part in an event that we have called "Transition Day" which, as well as helping to develop the ICT, Maths and Enterprise skills of the pupils involved, should also go some considerable way to easing their transition from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3.
