Welcome to Electronics
We live in a world that is dependent upon electronics in so many different ways that it is inconceivable to imagine life without it. The purpose of studying this subject is to firstly recognise the many different ways in which it affects our lives, and then to generate a broad understanding of it.
By studying this subject, students learn how components can work together to fulfil particular tasks such as logic, memory, counting and amplification etc. Once the understanding of basic building blocks has been established, the next step is to use a number of units to build a system that has a practical purpose.
Pupils are encouraged to develop practical skills in building systems developing confidence, knowledge and understanding as they progress. They are given the opportunity to learn the basics of a huge and complex subject that can be extremely rewarding.
