Maths (KS3);
The course is based on all 4 Attainment Targets of the National Curriculum. Initally the course consolidates work covered in year 6. Pupils are taught throughout year 7 in their form groups, and setting only begins after the school examinations in the Summer Term of year 7. Setting is achieved by considering results from the module tests taken throughout the year, from classwork and from the Summer examination.
Throughout the year, pupils will attempt designated tasks to help them improve their skills in the area of 'Using and Applying'. The end of year assessment is based upon 2 written examinations, and the continually assessed work done during the year. The whole of Key Stage 3 now follows the STP Mathemetics National Curriculum course, which provides an excellent foundation for their studies at GCSE level.
