Our new building programme is progressing well and we are now at the 'first fittings' stage. Most of the stud-partition walling is in place. The completion date is now set for around February/March. Ideally we would expect to have the Easter holiday period to allow us to move into some of the rooms, make the necessary ICT installations and transfer resources over from the main building. We will not be occupying all of the new rooms in 'one go'; we will be moving into the new buildings on a phased basis. The priority will be to free up those rooms that are to be converted into new, refurbished teaching rooms for other subjects.
Our new building will include provision for: Biology labs (including first floor exterior study balcony and glass house), Mathematics teaching rooms, Video Conferencing room, Business Studies and ICT suites. Towards the rear of the new building there is a new, high level, single storey building that will accommodate specialist Music teaching with an orchestra room, control/recording room, teaching & Music Technology room and practice rooms.
The photographs shown below were taken in early December and show the progress being made within the new building.
