Welcome to the PE Department
Physical Education and Games play a major role within our school. The main winter games are Rugby Union and Hockey. In summer, the main sports are Cricket and Athletics.
The PE curriculum is diverse with activities including ball skills, basketball, handball, volleyball, gymnastics, tennis, badminton and circuit training being offered, as well as health- related fitness throughout the junior years.
The school also benefits from excellent sports facilities. We have extensive playing fields within the school grounds, and we also utilise the Oval Sports Centre in both winter and summer. On site we have 6 rugby pitches, 1 hockey pitch and 3 cricket pitches. At the Oval we have access to tennis courts, a 400m athletics track and field event area, an astro-turf hockey pitch, a swimming pool and even a dry ski-slope. Our new sports hall boasts 3 basketball courts, 4 badminton courts, an Olympic Handball court and 3 Netball courts.
We also involve the pupils in a variety of house sports, sports clubs and of course school teams, and the school has a proud tradition of touring to places such as Australia, Barbados, Hong Kong, Singapore and the United States.
