Young Enterprise Boys represent WGSB at NEEC conference

Posted on: 07.01.2009
On Wednesday 7th January, Mr Harrison (Assistant Headteacher), Mr Boustead ( Community Learning Manager ), Richard Crompton ( Head Boy ), and 3 Young Enterprise Students ( Dominic Carr, Jonathan Kermode and Michael Lynes) visited Weatherhead School, Wallasey, to take part in the North of England Education Conference, an event being jointly held between Wirral and the University of Chester. At the conference delegates listened to key note speeches by Peter Fahy ( Chief Constable of Greater Manchester), David Urquart ( Bishop of Birmingham ) and former Education Secretary Estelle Morris. This was followed by a ' Question Time' event hosted by Political Journalist Jim Hancock. When the formalities concluded, over 300 delegates were presented with an opportunity to tour the school where every Wirral school held a themed event or a display of work. Our theme was ' Business & Enterprise', and as you can see from the images, the Young Enterprise team were certainly kept busy answering questions from several delegates including Steve Maddox, Chief Executive of Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council. Well done boys!
