Sweeney Todd 2010

The 2010 school production will be ' Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street  '. The Schools' Drama Society has acquired an enviable reputation for the professional quality of its musical productions in recent years, as anyone who has seen 'Les Miserables', 'Grease', 'Oliver' or the 2009 production of High School Musical can testify. 2010 will be no exception and rehearsals are well underway with performances planned for the end of the Spring Term.

This musical extravaganza tells the story of Benjamin Barker, a.k.a Sweeney Todd, who returns to London following 15 years in exile after his wife and daughter were stolen by Judge Turpin. Todd relocates his barber business to the top of Mrs. Lovett's pie shop from where he plans the revenge on the man who has now adopted his daughter. Todd will slice the throats of the unsuspecting public while giving them a shave, and the bodies of the victims are then turned into Mrs. Lovett's new meat pies!  All Todd needs to do is try to convince the Judge to sit in his chair.......... will he succeed?
