School News & FeaturesRoyal Marine Band PerformancePosted on: 10.02.2010 On Tuesday 9th February, a Royal Marines Band Service Group visited the school to deliver a presentation and perform to the boys in Year 8 and Year 9. The boys were lucky enough to be entertained by an 11-piece band playing contemporary music with vocals, electric guitars, double-bass, sax, trombone, trumpet and drums in a 'Big-Band' format. The set provided a diverse range of music which included covers of Amy Winehouse, Van Halen and Scouting for Girls, and at one point the office staff could visibly be seen strutting their stuff to a brilliant version of 'Play that Funky Music' as the superb sound travelled along the school corridors. WGSB would like to extend a huge thank you to our visitors, and we look forward to another visit from the band in the not too distant future. |
