Year 9 Boys become Tomorrow\'s Managers Today

On Wednesday 11th & Thursday 12th February, approximately 150 Year 9 boys took part in a management simulation exercise called ' Tomorrow's Managers Today ' where students run rival companies manufacturing cardboard vans to contract deadlines with strict quality control standards. TMT aims to help those taking part to consider the importance of Enterprise in industry, and focuses on essential skills such as Communication, Planning and Organising, Decision-Making, Motivating and Financial Capability. The 2 days were a huge success and our thanks go to Sefton EBP for delivering the activity, Sixth Form students who acted as Business Consultants and members of the local business community who played the part of Traders over the two day period. Undoubtedly the boys are now more aware of the nature of business and the competitive framework within which firms operate.
