Sports & Activities

The school is proud of its excellent reputation for success in competitive sport which has been gained over many years.

A wide variety of competitive games are on offer to the boys. We have an extensive fixture list and, during the Autumn and Spring terms, there are fixtures virtually every Saturday.

The school also presents the boys with opportunities to visit other countries as part of a sports tour, enjoy outdoor activities in the UK and take part in other visits to places of interest in in the UK and beyond

Hockey

Wirral Grammar School for Boys has a wide reputation for the quality of its sport, particularly Rugby, Cricket and Hockey.

Hockey is played during the Autumn and Spring terms and boys have the opportunity to play in either the 1st XI or the 2nd XI.

We are lucky enough to be able to make use of the nearby Oval Sports Centre which has excellent facilities for hockey.

Several boys have gone on to represent county sides at the sport.
