Pupils at WGSB are undoubtedly provided with a quality education by experienced and well qualified teaching staff. However, playing an equally important part in the development and care of the boys are the support staff, without whom the needs of the students would almost certainly not be met.
WGSB has an extensive body of support staff, who all perform vital roles within the school. Pupils are encouraged to notice the contributions made by the support staff, and are expected to display the same respect that they would for the classroom teachers and senior members of the management team.
Librarians, Science Technicians, ICT Technicians, Technology Technicians and Sports Technicians are on hand to provide valuable know-how and resources that support teaching and learning. Administrative staff such as the school Receptionists, are frequently the first person a parent or visitor meets when they enter the school, and they perform a wide range of office support duties including helping to manage the schools financial resources, facilities, contracts and recruitment.
Learning mentors and learning support staff help pupils to progress with their learning, and the school nurse ensures the well-being of all the boys. Away from the classroom, custodians and cleaning staff work as a team to ensure that our premises are kept clean and safe, and our catering staff help to prepare and serve a range of healthy eating menu options for over 1000 hungry boys.
It is a combination of the efforts made by both teaching and non-teaching staff that, in the words of our Mission Statement...."enables all pupils to achieve their potential"
