To ease the transistion from KS2 to KS3, we are inviting year 6 pupils from our partner primaries into our school to take part in a series of activities focusing on Maths, Business & Enterprise and ICT.
The pupils will spend the morning sessions 'making a kite' and 'building bridges'. While these activities are taking place, accompanying staff from the schools will work alongside staff from WGSB learning how to use Adobe Premier Elements to assemble video clips and photographs using drag and drop simplicity.
Following a break for lunch, the staff from the primary schools will have the opportunity to use their newly acquired skills to deliver a session to their own pupils (supported by staff from WGSB), utilising footage and photographs that will have been taken of the classes during the morning activities.
The outcome will be that the pupils will be able to take away their own kite, and of course colour printed newsletters which will outline their day at WGSB. The new skills can also be used back in school where staff will be able to incorporate video and photographs into the everyday teaching and learning environment.
