Welcome to Aspire

An engaging experience that gives you the opportunity to explore and discuss different topics that are active within our world and learn different views and perspectives on things you may already have developed thoughts about.” Ethan – Year 11

Aspire is a programme run for KS4 students to start developing their problem-solving, communication and leadership skills to access competitive university courses, careers, and apprenticeship programs.

Throughout the two years students will engage a range of current world issues. The “Wicked problems” of the 21st Century will need future leaders and thinkers who consider multiple perspectives and share a considerate and compassionate understanding for those of different social, cultural backgrounds.

We have regular guest speakers both in school and externally, with the highlight of the year being an Oxbridge workshop & visit to Aspire Liverpool’s Oxbridge event in conjunction with Magdalene College Cambridge.

Join Aspire to follow your intellectual curiosity.

Develop inspirational leadership. Explore issues of the world.

What Is Aspire?

The WGSB Aspire Society aims to develop critical thinkers, inspirational young leaders, and interdisciplinary problem solvers. Through exploration of real-world issues and concepts students will engage in discussions, inquiry, debate, public speaking, practical skills, and project leadership.

Students will discuss social, political, scientific, and economic principles that influence environmental, technological and social project planning.
