Fundraising & Support
Your contributions create valuable opportunities.
Each year, funds raised from the Friends’ Programme are put to good use across the school on a range of additional resources and opportunities, supporting activities such as drama workshops, student welfare programmes, music concerts, school productions, non-curricular sports clubs, university taster days, subsidising travel and much more. We want students to develop a strong understanding of themselves and their capabilities through encouraging creativity, individuality and enjoyment of education-based and extra-curricular activities.
Can you give your support by making a regular or one-off donation to The Friends’ programme Fund?
As a single academy trust, Wirral Grammar School for Boys is an exempt charity, registered with HMRC. This means that WGSB can claim Gift aid on donations received. This makes a tremendous difference to the impact of any donation. For every £1 you donate, the School receives an additional 25p at no cost to you.
Please use the link buttons to set up your donation and complete your donation form. Thank you.

Wirral Boys School Community (WBSC) is the name of our parent-teacher association. An engaged community dedicated to supporting the success and well-being of our students. The group organise and run events, with the support of the school, to raise funds for WGSB. They play a crucial role in fundraising for school, working to enhance the educational experience for all students.
You can help support the WBSC in a variety of ways depending upon how much time you can spare, from being part of the organising team through to offering a couple of hours to support one of the events.
Please contact WBSC via email to wirralboyssc@gmail.com
Careers education at WGSB begins in Year 7, encouraging students to develop their skills, have the confidence to succeed and make informed decisions about the future. Students will learn about employability skills, consider different industries, sectors and careers. They will prepare for the world of work through mock interviews and work experience.
We are grateful to our volunteers from universities and local companies (including parents and alumni) who kindly spare time to interview our students and support this process. We endeavour to provide opportunities to cater for all students’ interests and abilities through careers fairs, bespoke career support groups, visits and inspirational talks.
If you would like to be involved with our career talks, mock interviews or offer a work experience placement, please contact Mrs Wilson, Careers Manager schooloffice@wirralgrammarboys.com
The Challenge: We are raising funds to replace our IT suite and classroom PCs which operate on Windows 10, a system which will not be supported by Microsoft in a year’s time. They will no longer provide technical support, security updates or feature updates. Microsoft recommends moving to a supported version of Windows, such as Windows 11. The age of our PC hardware prevents us from simply installing Windows 11. We need to replace almost all our PCs and laptops – that is over 300 pieces of hardware which we have costed out at £80,000.
