WGSB6 provides a vibrant, dynamic and exciting environment and we hope you will consider joining us for your post-16 education. Most of our Y11 cohort progress into our sixth form and we are also very keen to encourage applications from external students wishing to join our community. Every year, significant numbers of external applicants make a seamless transition into WGSB6 and this is indicative of our inclusive approach.

Please see our Course Guide for details of our admissions criteria for all potential applicants. Note: WGSB students are not required to complete an application form.

WGSB6 provides not just academic challenge and a route to impressive A Level outcomes, but also countless opportunities for student leadership, enrichment and personal development which helps to fully prepare our students for the world beyond our school.

WGSB6 has been rated Outstanding for Sixth Form provision and this is in recognition of the comprehensive and ever-evolving provision we provide for our students and the opportunities through which they are able to thrive.

We have an extended Sixth Form Team that offers support to all our students, from pastoral interventions to bespoke careers and progression advice; we endeavour to nurture and support all our students throughout their time in WGSB6. Although the vast majority of our students progress to university, we also understand that this is not necessarily the preferred route for all, therefore we have developed a comprehensive support package for those applying for apprenticeships.

We are particularly proud of our Personal Development, Enrichment and Student Leadership programmes: we also encourage student voice through our WGSB6 Bulletin and Council.
