Students at Wirral Grammar School for Boys (WGSB) are celebrating an excellent set of GCSE results for 2026, reflecting their hard work, resilience and commitment across a broad range of subjects.

Headteacher Simon Ascroft said:

“These results are a wonderful achievement for our Year 11 students and reflect the determination, character and ambition they have shown throughout their first 5 years at WGSB. They have embraced every opportunity, supported one another, and thoroughly deserve the success they are celebrating today.”

He continued:

“I would like to congratulate all of our students on their achievements and thank our dedicated staff and supportive families, whose encouragement and commitment have played such an important part in helping them reach this milestone. We are incredibly proud of every one of them.”

With a record number of students choosing to continue their studies at WGS6, including for the first time female students joining the sixth form, Head of Faculty Adam Walker added:

“It has been a privilege to work with this year group. They have approached their studies with enthusiasm, maturity and a genuine desire to succeed. We are delighted that so many have chosen to continue their education with us at WGS6, and we look forward to welcoming a fantastic new cohort as they begin the next stage of their journey. Congratulations to every student on their well-deserved success.”
