Students at Wirral Grammar School for Boys (WGSB) have achieved incredible results across all subject areas this year.  Following 5 years of study including 2 which were hugely disrupted by COVID-19, students at Cross Lane have returned a bumper set of results.

Headteacher, Simon Ascroft said “Our Year 11 students have worked hard and shown great focus throughout their time here and fully deserve to achieve these results. It is even more remarkable when you consider the disruption to their learning and their lives”. He added “I am proud of all our students and their families, as well as our staff team who have supported and offered guidance at every point along the way”.

As a record number of students, including significant numbers from other schools finalise their plans to join WGSB6, the school’s sixth form, Head of Faculty Adam Walker said “This group of students have been an absolute pleasure to work with. Their determination to achieve great results was matched by their kindness to each other and good humour. It is excellent to know that so many of them are joining our sixth form. Well done to everyone!”.
